GUEST GUIDELINES 2021

In order to be a Covid Secure site for 2021, there are several new methods and procedures in place for this season. We have had to change how a few things work slightly, having had our first Covid season, in order that you and the staff and other guests are safe to enjoy your holiday with minimal impact, but maximum effect for all.

We have fully risk assessed and audited our site (in line with government guidance) to make sure that all possible risks (ie touch points) are limited and made as safe as possible (stringent cleaning rotas). This creates a responsibility for both you (washing hands after touching public surfaces) and us (keeping those surfaces clean) in order to keep us all safe. Please abide by our procedures and make sure that you are acting responsibly at all times, follow the countryside code when out and about and consider our broader community and how your actions impact on them.

On Arrival (5pm):

This should contain all the information you need in order to have a contactless arrival. However should you require help or information please call us and we will come to you. PLEASE DO NOT come down to the house- we are keen to keep our family home isolated as best we can. There will be additional information posted on the notice board in information room of the Shower and Toilet block- please do use this if you have any questions or queries.

-Your key will be in the door of your hut, available from 5pm

  • Arrival and Departure Times - To enable us to undertake the more intensive cleans required we have asked that guests vacate the property by 10am and do not expect to gain access before 5pm. If either time is disregarded by guests, staff will be asked to insist that you leave and return at the appropriate times to enable us to work safely. On arrival if assistance is required please call Vicki- any prior notice of arrival time would be extremely helpful - 07974251021
  • Bedding -There will be a fresh mattress protector and sheet left on your beds so you can just pop your own duvet and pillows straight on top. If you require fresh linen to be left for you please do just ask- this is not a problem at all- but we do need prior notice I order to leave it ready for you.
  • Decluttering - We will declutter as much as possible to make the cleaning and sanitising of the hut as easy as possible- removing all board games, etc.. and anything that isn’t deemed to be essential. Please do bring your own entertainment! Normally this would be provided but it is almost impossible to clean a board game in between each changeover! If you require any extra blankets or cushions please do call,

Finally if your guest numbers have changed or you have a dog or something different you need to pay for please call to ask for this to be changed. All payments need to be made over the phone, contactless, so please do not come and see us but call us (even if you are onsite!). I realise this seems unfriendly and unwelcoming but it is a simple measure we can do to minimise risk to all.

During Your Stay;

  • Wash your Hands! - During your stay please do ensure that you wash your hands regularly, being especially thorough. There are facilities for this spread around the site towards the amenities building.
  • Outside furniture -Please wash before and after use- it is there for your use but at your own risk. Please use the products provided to clean it before and after use. We will NOT be providing BBQ’s – as they are classes as unnecessary- but please bring your own- but keep them off grass, and 2m from the huts at all times.
  • Social Distancing – Please maintain social distancing in and around the campsite at all times. Be respectful of others and their need to be at least 2m away from you at all times. NO-ONE who is not booked in should enter your hut at any time and you should not enter anyone else’s hut/ caravan.
  • Shower and Toilet Block - The shower and toilet block will be shut between 12-3 pm for our staff to deep clean. NO-ONE will be allowed access to this area whilst a clean is in session. Please use the toilet down by the farmhouse if needed during this period. The facilities will be being cleaned 3x daily so this may lead to some queues. Please be considerate to others and plan timings accordingly to avoid peak times. If there are any issues with the shower and toilet block please call 07974251021 – JON. He will come and deal with any issues should they arise. Please queue outside of the building if the facilities are currently full.
  • Laundry/ washing up/ information area -This will be limited to 3 people- only ever 1 person (family group) in any of the individual areas at any one time- no more than 6 in the room at any one time. If there are more then you will have to split your group and have some people wait outside.

All dogs to be tied in the appropriate place- they must not enter the building at any point for any reason (unless a guide dog- in which case please let us know)

  • Wear Appropriate Protective Equipment as Necessary - We would suggest that no specialist equipment is necessary but please feel free to wear anything required to make you feel safe. There is a plentiful supply of hand sanitiser and washing facilities constantly available in the shower and toilet block- to be used to keep you and other campers safe. Please be considerate and use these frequently. The laundry area also provides an opportunity to wash and clean anything that you feel may be in anyway in need.

Inside the hut;

  • Cleaning Equipment – all the cleaning equipment, cloths and cleaning products have been left for you to use and make it easy for you to keep everything clean and virus free. They have been specially selected so that this should be an easy task with minimal effort for you with maximum effect. The cloths have been laundered or are brand new and the all the products are effective against the virus. Please use them if you have been out and about to keep the hut as clean and virus free as possible.
  • Kitchen utensils - There will be less kitchen utensils in the huts for the purpose of cleaning and sanitising. If there is anything you feel is missing from the hut or that you need please let me know and I will try and source this for you. I am afraid they may feel a little more clinical than we would like but feel safety has to be balanced carefully with creating a relaxing space. Please make sure all the kitchen utensils have been thoroughly washed and dried after use and that you feel they have been left suitable for future guests/ staff to handle.
  • Sofas and Armchairs - There is little guidance available on how to effectively clean frequently handled fabrics areas (such as armrests) during a changeover other than using a suitable antibacterial/viral spray such as Zo-Flora; suitably diluted. All soft furnishings will have been treated and isolated, where possible, for 3 days between each changeover. If extra blankets or cushions are required please ask.

Departure (10am!)

  • Bedding - We are asking guests to bring their own linen and bedding. This seems, with the benefit of last summer season, the best and obvious way to minimise any transfer of the virus, either to guests or to our staff. We will provide am isolated mattress protector and sheet, for you to add your duvet and pillows to. If you require fresh bed linen from us to go on your bedding that is not a problem- but please let us know I advance so it can be left ready for you. All the cushions and soft furnishings that remain in the hut for your use are fully isolated and sanitised.
  • Waste Disposal - Waste (both kitchen and bathroom) should be disposed of in the normal manner in the bins provided in the bathroom and the lounge area. We will request guests ensure that properties are left clear of waste, with this bagged and placed in the bins provided on the campsite. There should be no waste left inside the hut on your departure. In addition lease make sure that there are no food products or personal belongings left inside the hut on departure. Please wash your hands after doing this.
  • Ventilate the Property Appropriately - We would suggest opening all windows and where possible doors upon leaving the property, weather permitting.
  • Clean and Disinfect – Please wipe all surfaces down on leaving with the antiviral spray and cloth provided. All frequently touched surfaces should be disinfected thoroughly using the cleaning products provided. This should not take long- but really helps the staff coming into the hut.
  • Wash your Hands! - Please do ensure that you wash your hands after repeatedly throughout your stay and on leaving the hut.

We realise that all this seems quite timely and that extra effort has to be made- but in order for us to stay open and safe these measures are essential- so please do abide by them, we are really grateful for all the extra effort you will have made.

THANK YOU!

We are keen to minimise the risk to the family home and asking all guests to not come and knock on the door as usual but phone us- even from the site. We are happy to come up and see you but wish the family home to stay as isolated as possible.
